I ran across this little article today that seemed relevant.

MSIS put quite a bit of resources into the B200 collaboration space for the environment that enables teamwork, but there is something to be said for taking flexibility to the next logical step. Telework, co-work , and scheduling options should get some love. Additionally, we should be working in a more concentrated, meaningful way at ensuring our individual teams have the access and opportunity to be part of a shared vision. Not necessarily on some grand scale, but individually with the teams and their directors. We have the big MSIS vision documented, but perhaps that needs to be rooted a touch more.

  1. Interesting and challenging work, a greater purpose with a sense of your place in it, influence over what you do and how you do it, and flexibility in work hours and location: sounds like a great recipe for satisfaction, and it also sounds pretty much like my own personal experience of the last 7+ years. Thanks for sharing this article, but - more importantly - thank you for letting me live it.
