As the fiscal year end approaches, MSIS will be collecting dues for their recharge accounts.  You and our patrons may see communications regarding this in the next couple of weeks.  MSIS doesn't have a lot of recharge activities, and that's a good thing.  What we do recharge is subsidized, to support our tripartite mission in patient care, research and education. This year, we have a new recharge account for Virtual Servers. The recharge rate is designed to be cost competitive with physical servers so that we can reduce the risk of servers and sensitive data in research labs and offices.

By June 30th, patrons will be billed for their virtual servers. Bills will encompass the period from September 1, 2014 until June 30, 2015.  For Virtual Servers that have been with us prior to September 1, 2014 they will be billed for only 10 months of activity.  Starting July 1, 2015 billing will occur monthly.

Please help review statements for accuracy when requested.  Servers are billed for their consumption of RAM and local storage.  RAM is $34.20 per gigabyte per year, Storage is $1.80 per gigabyte per year.

Please encourage patrons to work with their finance person.  The account information listed on their statement is what we have on file for their infrastructure needs.  We want to make sure they have accurate information so that our patrons will not have to make journal entries after we have billed.
