As a reminder, the 2014 Employee Engagement survey is open through this Friday, May 16.  We've had a lot of groups report back at 100% completion, but we aren't there yet across the board.  Please, please encourage everyone around you to take the time to fill out the survey.

What is my WAC Code?

As a reminder, the WAC codes for MSIS are included below:
  1. 1070 - UMMS CIO MSIS Learning Program
  2. 1071 - UMMS CIO MSIS B200 Collab Space
  3. 1072 - UMMS CIO MSIS Solutions Center (not in B200 Collab Space)
As a guide to these codes:
- If you work in the Learning Program (MLearning, IDTT, Enabling Technologies), you use 1070.
- If you work in B200 (CIO, Research, Strategy, SWD, DMS, M3, Services Delivery, Services Quality, Sys Admins, DBAs, some DSAs) you use 1071.
- If you work in the Solutions Center at a remote location (DSAs, Help Me Now, etc) you use 1072.
Providing your feedback and suggestions is essential for creating a better work environment in the University of Michigan Health System.

In order for us to provide the best workplace possible, we ask that you please take 10-15 minutes out of your day to share what makes our organization great, and what could be improved.  We are aiming for the highest percentage response we can, so please take the time to fill out the survey, as we'll monitor overall response rates as the survey unfolds.

Who takes this survey?

The Employee Engagement survey is for Hospitals, Health Centers and Medical School staff who began working at UMHS before April, 5, 2014. Dual-appointment employees may take the survey, as long as one of their appointments is in the Health System. Any temporary employee that is within the Health System can complete the survey.

Individuals working within the Health System temporarily through a vendor (e.g. Manpower) and volunteers are excluded from taking the survey. Faculty and house officers will have an opportunity to complete a different survey at a later time.

What will I need to take the survey?

1.) Your Work Area Code (WAC), which you should get from your supervisor.  The complete list of work codes is listed on the Employee Engagement website.

2.) A password will be required to take the survey. The 10-digit password will consist of your 8-digit Employee ID number, plus your two-digit date of birth. (For example, if you were born on June 4 and your employee ID number is 12345678, your password will be 1234567804.)

Are my survey results confidential?

Yes, your responses are secure. No one in UMHS will have access to data that can identify specific individuals. Responses have always been anonymous and using an external vendor adds an extra level of security. By requiring a survey password, we are ensuring that each UMHS employee takes the survey only once. Staff with official dual or multiple appointments will be contacted separately for instructions on taking the survey more than one time.

How can I access the survey?

When you complete the survey, you can register to win free UMHS prizes so don’t miss this opportunity to contribute toward positive changes in our Health System.

What if I have questions about the survey?

Ask your manager or visit the Employee Engagement website for a complete list of frequently asked questions. I am serving as Survey Ambassador for MSIS and can address any issues you may encounter.

Thank you!
